RISING Women Foundation

      The News

      1.  As the official event organizer of Women Empowerment Awards (WEA), and on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore, Her Times would like to take this chance and sharing an exciting news with you, the“RISING Women Foundation”, will be launched concurrently with Her Times 3rd Women Empowerment Awards on 22 July 2019.

 

       2.   In 2017, on the celebratory occasion of the 50th anniversary diplomatic relations between Singapore and Indonesia, Her Times kicked off the inaugural "RISING50 Women Empowerment Award” (WEA) with the support of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. The award is to recognize those women who make outstanding contributions to both Singapore and Indonesia.

 

       3.  Through WEA in the past two years,  women role models have been identified from various sectors.  They are connected with Singapore and Indonesia, and have achieved outstanding performance in education, business, society and philanthropy--and, most importantly proven good hearts which have been able to demonstrate the willingness to do real contributions to women lives in the area of education, health and development.  One of the initiatives was to form a Platform in which all of the Award Winners can participate to contribute to society as set out in 2015 SDGs.

 

       4.The Missions of the Foundation are:

·         Promoting women empowerment across education, healthcare and entrepreneurship;

·         Launching programmes and having thematic activities, forums and trips;

·         Inspiring women’s journeys and new insights from other leaders;

·         Enhancing the quality in women’s life and business.

 

       1. The Vision of the Foundation is to bridge women in the two countries in the face of world challenges and for the benefits of economic prosperity and harmony in the community and society.

 

       2. Women Empowerment is crucial for Indonesia and Singapore to achieve sustainable economic growth and social stability. As Singapore has a good location between the east and the west and has vast experience in women-in-leadership, it is a strategic position where it bridges women in Indonesia to the world though the gateway of Singapore.

 

       3.  The foundation's name “Yayasan RISING Women” (RISING Women Foundation) is to mark the historic diplomatic relations between Singapore and Indonesia, to acknowledge the trend of women in leadership and to open up a platform for women to participate actively in betterment of other women in Singapore and Indonesia.

 

        4. The Foundation's members will be the Award Winners of Women Empowerment Awards.  Its direction and agenda will be developed by a Council whose members include successful women in social causes who are keen to make changes in women lives. .  A Board of Advisor will provide support and advice to the Council.

 

        5. With the support from the Indonesian embassy in Singapore as well as the all Award Winners and stakeholders, the foundation will bear the mission to promote women empowerment across education, healthcare and entrepreneurship with a series of programme. The WEA will be a good arm to promote the mission of ‘RISING Women Foundation’.
